Bishop of Ephesus. His Letter to Victor of Rome (preserved by Eusebius) is the chief witness for the Quartodeciman observance of Pascha on the 14th of Nisan in the churches of Asia Minor — a tradition Polycrates traces back to the Apostles Philip and John.
