Habakkuk · Prophet Habakkuk

¹ A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk, with a song.

Hab 3:1

² O Lord, I have heard thy report, and was afraid:

Hab 3:2

³ God shall come from Teman,

Hab 3:3

⁴ His excellence covered the heavens,

Hab 3:4

⁵ Before his face shall go a report,

Hab 3:5

⁶ The earth stood at his feet and trembled:

Hab 3:6

⁷ Because of troubles I looked upon the tents of the Ethiopians:

Hab 3:7

⁸ Wast thou angry, O Lord, with the rivers?

Hab 3:8

⁹ Surely thou didst bend thy bow

Hab 3:9

¹⁰ The nations shall see thee and be in pain,

Hab 3:10

¹¹ The sun was exalted, and the moon stood still in her course:

Hab 3:11

¹² Thou wilt bring low the land with threatening,

Hab 3:12

¹³ Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people,

Hab 3:13

¹⁴ Thou didst cut asunder the heads of princes with amazement,

Hab 3:14

¹⁵ And thou dost cause thy horses to enter the sea,

Hab 3:15

¹⁶ I watched, and my belly trembled

Hab 3:16

¹⁷ For [though] the fig tree shall bear no fruit,

Hab 3:17

¹⁸ Yet I will exult in the Lord,

Hab 3:18

¹⁹ The Lord God is my strength,

Hab 3:19
