TextA−AA+Bookmarks0← JobChapter 9Job 9:1¹ Then Job answered and said,Job 9:1Job 9:2² I know of a truth that it is so:Job 9:2Job 9:3³ For if he would enter into judgment with him,Job 9:3Job 9:4⁴ For he is wise in mind, and mighty, and great:Job 9:4Job 9:5⁵ Who wears out the mountains, and [men] know it not:Job 9:5Job 9:6⁶ Who shakes the [earth] under heaven from its foundations,Job 9:6Job 9:7⁷ Who commands the sun, and it rises not;Job 9:7Job 9:8⁸ Who alone has stretched out the heavens,Job 9:8Job 9:9⁹ Who makes Pleiades, and Hesperus, and Arcturus, and the chambers of the south.Job 9:9Job 9:10¹⁰ Who does great and unsearchable things;Job 9:10Job 9:11¹¹ If ever he should go beyond me, I shall not see him:Job 9:11Job 9:12¹² If he would take away, who shall turn him back?Job 9:12Job 9:13¹³ For [if] he has turned away [his] anger,Job 9:13Job 9:14¹⁴ Oh then that he would hearken to me, or judge my cause.Job 9:14Job 9:15¹⁵ For though I be righteous, he will not hearken to me:Job 9:15Job 9:16¹⁶ And if I should call and he should not hearken,Job 9:16Job 9:17¹⁷ Let him not crush me with a dark storm:Job 9:17Job 9:18¹⁸ For he suffers me not to take breath,Job 9:18Job 9:19¹⁹ For indeed he is strong in power:Job 9:19Job 9:20²⁰ For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane:Job 9:20Job 9:21²¹ For even if I have sinned, I know it not [in] my soul:Job 9:21Job 9:22²² Wherefore I said, Wrath slays the great and mighty man.Job 9:22Job 9:23²³ For the worthless die,Job 9:23Job 9:24²⁴ For they are delivered into the hands of the unrighteous [man]:Job 9:24Job 9:25²⁵ But my life is swifter than a post:Job 9:25Job 9:26²⁶ Or again, is there a trace of [their] path [left] by ships?Job 9:26Job 9:27²⁷ And if I should say, I will forget to speak,Job 9:27Job 9:28²⁸ I quake in all my limbs,Job 9:28Job 9:29²⁹ But since I am ungodly, why have I not died?Job 9:29Job 9:30³⁰ For if I should wash myself with snow,Job 9:30Job 9:31³¹ Thou hadst thoroughly plunged me in filth,Job 9:31Job 9:32³² For thou art not man like me, with whom I could contend,Job 9:32Job 9:33³³ Would that [he] our mediator were [present], and a reprover,Job 9:33Job 9:34³⁴ Let him remove [his] rod from me,Job 9:34Job 9:35³⁵ So shall I not be afraid, but I will speak:Job 9:35← Chapter 8Chapter 10 →
