Chapter 12

Proverbs · King Solomon

¹ He that loves instruction loves sense,

Pr 12:1

² He that has found favor with the Lord [is made] better;

Pr 12:2

³ A man shall not prosper by wickedness;

Pr 12:3

⁴ A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband;

Pr 12:4

⁵ The thoughts of the righteous [are true] judgments;

Pr 12:5

⁶ The words of ungodly men are crafty;

Pr 12:6

⁷ When the ungodly is overthrown, he vanishes away;

Pr 12:7

⁸ The mouth of an understanding [man] is praised by a man;

Pr 12:8

⁹ Better is a man in dishonor serving himself,

Pr 12:9

¹⁰ A righteous man has pity for the lives of his cattle;

Pr 12:10

¹¹ He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread;

¹¹ a He that enjoys himself in banquets of wine,

¹² The desires of the ungodly are evil;

¹³ For the sin of [his] lips a sinner falls into snares;

¹³ a He whose looks are gentle shall be pitied,

¹⁴ The soul of a man shall be filled with good from the fruits of his mouth;

¹⁵ The ways of fools are right in their own eyes;

¹⁶ A fool declares his wrath the same day;

¹⁷ A righteous man declares the open truth;

¹⁸ Some wound as they speak, [like] swords;

Pr 12:18

¹⁹ True lips establish testimony;

Pr 12:19

²⁰ [There is] deceit in the heart of him that imagines evil;

Pr 12:20

²¹ No injustice will please a just man;

Pr 12:21

²² Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord;

²³ An understanding man is a throne of wisdom;

Pr 12:23

²⁴ The hand of chosen men shall easily obtain rule;

Pr 12:24

²⁵ A terrible word troubles the heart of a righteous man;

Pr 12:25

²⁶ A just arbitrator shall be his own friend;

Pr 12:26

²⁷ A deceitful man shall catch no game;

Pr 12:27

²⁸ In the ways of righteousness is life;
