Chapter 14

Proverbs · King Solomon

¹ Wise women build houses:

Pr 14:1

² He that walks uprightly fears the Lord;

Pr 14:2

³ Out of the mouth of fools [comes] a rod of pride;

Pr 14:3

⁴ Where no oxen are, the cribs are clean;

Pr 14:4

⁵ A faithful witness does not lie;

Pr 14:5

⁶ Thou shalt seek wisdom with bad men, and shalt not find it;

Pr 14:6

⁷ All things are adverse to a foolish man;

Pr 14:7

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent will understand their ways;

Pr 14:8

⁹ The houses of transgressors will need purification;

Pr 14:9

¹⁰ [If] a man’s mind is intelligent, his soul is sorrowful;

Pr 14:10

¹¹ The houses of ungodly men shall be utterly destroyed;

Pr 14:11

¹² There is a way which seems to be right with men,

Pr 14:12

¹³ Grief mingles not with mirth;

Pr 14:13

¹⁴ A stouthearted [man] shall be filled with his own ways;

Pr 14:14

¹⁵ The simple believes every word:

¹⁶ A wise man fears, and departs from evil;

Pr 14:16

¹⁷ A passionate man acts inconsiderately;

Pr 14:17

¹⁸ Fools shall have mischief for their portion;

Pr 14:18

¹⁹ Evil men shall fall before the good;

Pr 14:19

²⁰ Friends will hate poor friends;

Pr 14:20

²¹ He that dishonors the needy sins:

Pr 14:21

²² They that go astray devise evils:

Pr 14:22

²³ With everyone [who is] careful there is abundance:

Pr 14:23

²⁴ A prudent man is the crown of the wise:

Pr 14:24

²⁵ A faithful witness shall deliver a soul from evil:

Pr 14:25

²⁶ In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence:

Pr 14:26

²⁷ The commandment of the Lord is a fountain of life;

Pr 14:27

²⁸ In a populous nation is the glory of a king:

Pr 14:28

²⁹ A man slow to wrath abounds in wisdom:

Pr 14:29

³⁰ A meek-spirited man is a healer of the heart:

Pr 14:30

³¹ He that oppresses the needy provokes his Maker:

Pr 14:31

³² The ungodly shall be driven away in his wickedness:

Pr 14:32

³³ There is wisdom in the good heart of a man:

Pr 14:33

³⁴ Righteousness exalts a nation:

Pr 14:34

³⁵ An understanding servant is acceptable to a king;
