TextA−AA+Bookmarks0← ProverbsChapter 21Proverbs · King SolomonPr 21:1¹ As a rush of water, so is the king’s heart in God’s hand:Pr 21:1Pr 21:2² Every man seems to himself righteous;Pr 21:2Pr 21:3³ To do justly and to speak truth,Pr 21:3Pr 21:4⁴ A high-minded man is stouthearted in [his] pride;Pr 21:4Pr 21:6⁶ He that gathers treasures with a lying tonguePr 21:6Pr 21:7⁷ Destruction shall lodge with the ungodly;Pr 21:7Pr 21:8⁸ To the froward God sends froward ways;Pr 21:8Pr 21:9⁹ [It is] better to dwell in a corner on the housetop,Pr 21:9Pr 21:10¹⁰ The soul of the ungodly shall not be pitied by any man.Pr 21:10Pr 21:11¹¹ When an intemperate man is punished the simple becomes wiser:Pr 21:11Pr 21:12¹² A righteous man understands the hearts of the ungodly:Pr 21:12Pr 21:13¹³ He that stops his ears from hearing the poor,Pr 21:13Pr 21:14¹⁴ A secret gift calms anger:Pr 21:14Pr 21:15¹⁵ [It is] the joy of the righteous to do judgment:Pr 21:15Pr 21:16¹⁶ A man that wanders out of the way of righteousness,Pr 21:16Pr 21:17¹⁷ A poor man loves mirth,Pr 21:17Pr 21:18¹⁸ And a transgressor is the abomination of a righteous man.Pr 21:18Pr 21:19¹⁹ [It is] better to dwell in a wildernessPr 21:19Pr 21:20²⁰ A desirable treasure will rest on the mouth of the wise;Pr 21:20Pr 21:21²¹ The way of righteousness and mercy will find life and glory.Pr 21:21Pr 21:22²² A wise man assaults strong cities,Pr 21:22Pr 21:23²³ He that keeps his mouth and his tonguePr 21:23Pr 21:24²⁴ A bold and self-willed and insolent [man] is called a pest:Pr 21:24Pr 21:25²⁵ Desires kill the sluggard;Pr 21:25Pr 21:26²⁶ An ungodly man entertains evil desires all the day:Pr 21:26Pr 21:27²⁷ The sacrifices of the ungodly are abomination to the Lord,Pr 21:27Pr 21:28²⁸ A false witness shall perish;Pr 21:28Pr 21:29²⁹ An ungodly man impudently withstands with his face;Pr 21:29Pr 21:30³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no courage,Pr 21:30Pr 21:31³¹ A horse is prepared for the day of battle;Pr 21:31← Chapter 20Chapter 22 →
