Chapter 16

Psalms · King David

¹ A Prayer of David.

Ps 16:1

² Let my judgment come forth from thy presence;

Ps 16:2

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited [me] by night;

Ps 16:3

⁴ As for the works of men, by the words of thy lips I have guarded [myself from] hard ways.

Ps 16:4

⁵ Direct my steps in thy paths,

Ps 16:5

⁶ I have cried, for thou heardest me, O God:

Ps 16:6

⁷ Show the marvels of thy mercies,

Ps 16:7

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye

Ps 16:8

⁹ From the face of the ungodly that have afflicted me:

Ps 16:9

¹⁰ They have enclosed [themselves with] their own fat:

Ps 16:10

¹¹ They have now cast me out and compassed me round about:

Ps 16:11

¹² They laid wait for me as a lion ready for prey,

Ps 16:12

¹³ Arise, O Lord, prevent them, and cast them down:

Ps 16:13

¹⁴ because of the enemies of thy hand:

Ps 16:14

¹⁵ But I shall appear in righteousness before thy face:
