Chapter 44

Psalms · King David

¹ For the end, for alternate [strains] by the sons of Korah; for instruction, a Song concerning the beloved.

Ps 44:1

² My heart has uttered a good matter:

Ps 44:2

³ Thou art more beautiful than the sons of men:

Ps 44:3

⁴ Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O Mighty One,

Ps 44:4

⁵ And bend [thy bow], and prosper, and reign,

Ps 44:5

⁶ Thy weapons are sharpened, Mighty One

Ps 44:6

⁷ Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever:

Ps 44:7

⁸ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity:

Ps 44:8

⁹ Myrrh, and stacte, and cassia [are exhaled] from thy garments,

Ps 44:9

¹⁰ With which kings’ daughters have gladdened thee for thine honor:

Ps 44:10

¹¹ Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline thine ear;

Ps 44:11

¹² Because the king has desired thy beauty;

Ps 44:12

¹³ And the daughter of Tyre shall adore him with gifts;

Ps 44:13

¹⁴ All her glory [is that] of the daughter of the king of Heshbon,

Ps 44:14

¹⁵ in embroidered [clothing]:

Ps 44:15

¹⁶ They shall be brought with gladness and exultation:

Ps 44:16

¹⁷ Instead of thy fathers children are born to thee:

Ps 44:17

¹⁸ They shall make mention of thy name from generation to generation:

Ps 44:18
