Chapter 7

Psalms · King David

¹ A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush the Benjaminite.

Ps 7:1

² O Lord my God, in thee have I trusted:

Ps 7:2

³ Lest at any time [the enemy] seize my soul as a lion,

Ps 7:3

⁴ O Lord my God, if I have done this

Ps 7:4

⁵ If I have requited with evil those who requited me [with good];

Ps 7:5

⁶ Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it;

Ps 7:6

⁷ Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath;

Ps 7:7

⁸ And the congregation of the nations shall compass thee:

Ps 7:8

⁹ The Lord shall judge the nations:

Ps 7:9

¹⁰ Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end;

Ps 7:10

¹¹ My help is righteous, [coming] from God

Ps 7:11

¹² God is a righteous judge, and strong, and patient,

Ps 7:12

¹³ If ye will not repent, he will furbish his sword;

Ps 7:13

¹⁴ And on it he has fitted the instruments of death;

Ps 7:14

¹⁵ Behold, he has travailed with unrighteousness,

Ps 7:15

¹⁶ He has opened a pit, and dug it up,

Ps 7:16

¹⁷ His trouble shall return on his own head,

Ps 7:17

¹⁸ I will give thanks to the Lord according to his righteousness;
