Chapter 85

¹ A Prayer of David.

Ps 85:1

² Preserve my soul, for I am holy;

Ps 85:2

³ Pity me, O Lord: for to thee will I cry all the day.

Ps 85:3

⁴ Rejoice the soul of thy servant:

Ps 85:4

⁵ For thou, O Lord, art kind, and gentle;

Ps 85:5

⁶ Give ear to my prayer, O Lord;

Ps 85:6

⁷ In the day of my trouble I cried to thee: for thou didst hear me.

Ps 85:7

⁸ There is none like to thee, O Lord, among the gods;

Ps 85:8

⁹ All nations whom thou hast made shall come,

Ps 85:9

¹⁰ For thou art great, and doest wonders:

Ps 85:10

¹¹ Guide me, O Lord, in thy way,

Ps 85:11

¹² I will give thee thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart;

Ps 85:12

¹³ For thy mercy is great toward me;

Ps 85:13

¹⁴ O God, transgressors have risen up against me,

Ps 85:14

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord God, art compassionate and merciful,

Ps 85:15

¹⁶ Look thou upon me, and have mercy upon me:

Ps 85:16

¹⁷ Establish with me a token for good;
