Chapter 10

Proverbs · King Solomon

¹ A wise son makes [his] father glad:

Pr 10:1

² Treasures shall not profit the lawless:

Pr 10:2

³ The Lord will not famish a righteous soul:

Pr 10:3

⁴ Poverty brings a man low:

Pr 10:4

⁴ a A son who is instructed shall be wise,

Pr 10:4

⁵ A wise son is saved from heat:

Pr 10:5

⁶ The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just:

Pr 10:6

⁷ The memory of the just is praised;

Pr 10:7

⁸ A wise man in heart will receive commandments;

Pr 10:8

⁹ He that walks simply, walks confidently;

Pr 10:9

¹⁰ He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men;

Pr 10:10

¹¹ [There is] a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man;

Pr 10:11

¹² Hatred stirs up strife;

Pr 10:12

¹³ He that brings forth wisdom from his lips

Pr 10:13

¹⁴ The wise will hide discretion;

Pr 10:14

¹⁵ The wealth of rich men is a strong city;

Pr 10:15

¹⁶ The works of the righteous produce life;

Pr 10:16

¹⁷ Instruction keeps the right ways of life;

Pr 10:17

¹⁸ Righteous lips cover enmity;

Pr 10:18

¹⁹ By a multitude of words thou shalt not escape sin;

Pr 10:19

²⁰ The tongue of the just is tried silver;

Pr 10:20

²¹ The lips of the righteous know sublime [truths]:

Pr 10:21

²² The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the righteous;

Pr 10:22

²³ A fool does mischief in sport;

Pr 10:23

²⁴ The ungodly is engulfed in destruction;

Pr 10:24

²⁵ When the storm passes by, the ungodly vanishes away;

Pr 10:25

²⁶ As a sour grape is hurtful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes,

Pr 10:26

²⁷ The fear of the Lord adds [length] of days:

Pr 10:27

²⁸ Joy rests long with the righteous:

Pr 10:28

²⁹ The fear of the Lord is a stronghold of the saints:

Pr 10:29

³⁰ The righteous shall never fail:

Pr 10:30

³¹ The mouth of the righteous drops wisdom:

Pr 10:31

³² The lips of just men drop grace:
