Proverbs · King Solomon

³ The folly of a man spoils his ways:

Pr 19:3

⁴ Wealth acquires many friends;

Pr 19:4

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished,

Pr 19:5

⁶ Many court the favor of kings;

Pr 19:6

⁷ Every one who hates [his] poor brother

Pr 19:7

⁸ He that procures wisdom loves himself;

Pr 19:8

⁹ A false witness shall not be unpunished;

Pr 19:9

¹⁰ Delight does not suit a fool,

Pr 19:10

¹¹ A merciful man is long-suffering;

Pr 19:11

¹² The threatening of a king is like the roaring of a lion;

Pr 19:12

¹³ A foolish son is a disgrace to his father:

¹⁴ Fathers divide house and substance to [their] children:

Pr 19:14

¹⁵ Cowardice possesses the effeminate [man];

Pr 19:15

¹⁶ He that keeps the commandment keeps his own soul;

Pr 19:16

¹⁷ He that has pity on the poor lends to the Lord;

Pr 19:17

¹⁸ Chasten thy son, for so he shall be hopeful;

Pr 19:18

¹⁹ A malicious man shall be severely punished,

²⁰ Hear, son, the instruction of thy father,

Pr 19:20

²¹ [There are] many thoughts in a man’s heart;

²² Mercy is a fruit to a man:

²³ The fear of the Lord is life to a man:

²⁴ He that unjustly hides his hands in his bosom,

Pr 19:24

²⁵ When a pestilent character is scourged, a simple man is made wiser:

Pr 19:25

²⁶ He that dishonors his father, and drives away his mother,

Pr 19:26

²⁷ A son who ceases to attend to the instruction of a father

Pr 19:27

²⁸ He that becomes surety for a foolish child will despise the ordinance:

Pr 19:28

²⁹ Scourges are preparing for the intemperate,
