Chapter 29

Proverbs · King Solomon

¹ A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man:

Pr 29:1

² When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice:

Pr 29:2

³ When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices:

⁴ A righteous king establishes a country:

Pr 29:4

⁵ He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend,

Pr 29:5

⁶ A great snare [is spread] for a sinner:

Pr 29:6

⁷ A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor:

Pr 29:7

⁸ Lawless men burn down a city:

Pr 29:8

⁹ A wise man shall judge nations:

Pr 29:9

¹⁰ Bloody men hate a holy [person],

Pr 29:10

¹¹ A fool utters all his mind:

¹² When a king hearkens to unjust language,

Pr 29:12

¹³ When the creditor and debtor meet together,

Pr 29:13

¹⁴ When a king judges the poor in truth,

Pr 29:14

¹⁵ Stripes and reproofs give wisdom:

Pr 29:15

¹⁶ When the ungodly abound, sins abound:

Pr 29:16

¹⁷ Chasten thy son, and he shall give thee rest;

¹⁸ There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation:

¹⁹ A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words:

Pr 29:19

²⁰ If thou see a man hasty in [his] words,

Pr 29:20

²¹ He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant,

Pr 29:21

²² A furious man stirs up strife,

Pr 29:22

²³ Pride brings a man low,

Pr 29:23

²⁴ He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul:

Pr 29:24

²⁵ [They] fearing and reverencing men [unreasonably] have been overthrown,

Pr 29:25

²⁶ Many wait on the favor of rulers;

Pr 29:26

²⁷ A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man,
