¹ Alleluia.

Ἀλληλούϊα.

Ps 113:2

² Judea became his sanctuary,

ἐγενήθη Ἰουδαία ἁγίασμα αὐτοῦ, Ἰσραὴλ ἐξουσία αὐτοῦ.

³ The sea saw and fled:

ἡ θάλασσα εἶδε καὶ ἔφυγεν, ὁ Ἰορδάνης ἐστράφη εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω·

⁴ The mountains skipped like rams,

τὰ ὄρη ἐσκίρτησαν ὡσεὶ κριοὶ καὶ οἱ βουνοὶ ὡς ἀρνία προβάτων.

⁵ What [ailed] thee, O sea, that thou fleddest?

τί σοί ἐστι, θάλασσα, ὅτι ἔφυγες, καὶ σύ, Ἰορδάνη, ὅτι ἐστράφης εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω;

⁶ [Ye] mountains, that ye skipped like rams,

τὰ ὄρη, ὅτι ἐσκιρτήσατε ὡσεὶ κριοί, καὶ οἱ βουνοὶ ὡς ἀρνία προβάτων;

⁷ The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord,

ἀπὸ προσώπου Κυρίου ἐσαλεύθη ἡ γῆ, ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἰακὼβ

⁸ Who turned the rock into pools of water,

τοῦ στρέψαντος τὴν πέτραν εἰς λίμνας ὑδάτων καὶ τὴν ἀκρότομον εἰς πηγὰς ὑδάτων.

⁹ Not to us, O Lord, not to us,

μὴ ἡμῖν, Κύριε, μὴ ἡμῖν, ἀλλ᾿ ἢ τῷ ὀνόματί σου δὸς δόξαν, ἐπὶ τῷ ἐλέει σου καὶ τῇ ἀληθείᾳ σου,

¹⁰ Lest at any time the nations should say,

μήποτε εἴπωσι τὰ ἔθνη· ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ Θεὸς αὐτῶν;

¹¹ But our God has done in heaven and on earth,

ὁ δὲ Θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐν τῇ γῇ πάντα, ὅσα ἠθέλησεν, ἐποίησε.

¹² The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

τὰ εἴδωλα τῶν ἐθνῶν, ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον, ἔργα χειρῶν ἀνθρώπων·

¹³ They have a mouth, but they cannot speak;

στόμα ἔχουσι, καὶ οὐ λαλήσουσιν, ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχουσι, καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται,

¹⁴ They have ears, but they cannot hear;

ὦτα ἔχουσι, καὶ οὐκ ἀκούσονται, ρῖνας ἔχουσι, καὶ οὐκ ὀσφρανθήσονται,

¹⁵ They have hands, but they cannot handle;

χεῖρας ἔχουσι, καὶ οὐ ψηλαφήσουσι, πόδας ἔχουσι καὶ οὐ περιπατήσουσιν, οὐ φωνήσουσιν ἐν τῷ λάρυγγι αὐτῶν.

¹⁶ Let those that make them become like to them,

ὅμοιοι αὐτοῖς γένοιντο οἱ ποιοῦντες αὐτὰ καὶ πάντες οἱ πεποιθότες ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῖς.

¹⁷ The house of Israel trusts in the Lord:

οἶκος Ἰσραὴλ ἤλπισεν ἐπὶ Κύριον· βοηθὸς καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν.

¹⁸ The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord:

οἶκος Ἀαρὼν ἤλπισεν ἐπὶ Κύριον· βοηθὸς καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν.

¹⁹ They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord:

οἱ φοβούμενοι τὸν Κύριον ἤλπισαν ἐπὶ Κύριον· βοηθὸς καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν.

Ps 113:20

²⁰ The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us:

Κύριος μνησθεὶς ἡμῶν εὐλόγησεν ἡμᾶς, εὐλόγησε τὸν οἶκον Ἰσραήλ, εὐλόγησε τὸν οἶκον Ἀαρών,

Ps 113:21

²¹ He has blessed them that fear the Lord,

εὐλόγησε τοὺς φοβουμένους τὸν Κύριον, τοὺς μικροὺς μετὰ τῶν μεγάλων.

²² The Lord add [blessings]

προσθείη Κύριος ἐφ᾿ ὑμᾶς, ἐφ᾿ ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς ὑμῶν.

Ps 113:23

²³ Blessed are ye of the Lord,

εὐλογημένοι ὑμεῖς τῷ Κυρίῳ τῷ ποιήσαντι τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν.

Ps 113:24

²⁴ The heaven of heavens [belongs] to the Lord:

ὁ οὐρανὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τῷ Κυρίῳ, τὴν δὲ γῆν ἔδωκε τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων.

Ps 113:25

²⁵ The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord,

οὐχ οἱ νεκροὶ αἰνέσουσί σε, Κύριε, οὐδὲ πάντες οἱ καταβαίνοντες εἰς ᾅδου,

Ps 113:26

²⁶ But we, the living, will bless the Lord,

ἀλλ᾿ ἡμεῖς οἱ ζῶντες εὐλογήσομεν τὸν Κύριον, ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν, καὶ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος.
