Chapter 47

¹ A Psalm of praise for the sons of Korah on the second [day] of the week.

Ps 47:1

² Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

Ps 47:2

³ The city of the great King

Ps 47:3

⁴ God is known in her palaces,

Ps 47:4

⁵ For, behold, the kings of the earth were assembled,

Ps 47:5

⁶ They saw, and so they wondered:

Ps 47:6

⁷ Trembling took hold on them:

Ps 47:7

⁸ Thou wilt break the ships of Tarshish with a vehement wind.

Ps 47:8

⁹ As we have heard, so have we also seen,

Ps 47:9

¹⁰ We have thought of thy mercy, O God,

Ps 47:10

¹¹ According to thy name, O God,

Ps 47:11

¹² Let Mount Zion rejoice,

Ps 47:12

¹³ Go round about Zion, and encompass her:

Ps 47:13

¹⁴ Mark ye well her strength,

Ps 47:14

¹⁵ For this is our God forever and ever:
