Chapter 48

¹ For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Korah.

Ps 48:1

² Hear these words, all ye nations,

Ps 48:2

³ Both the sons of mean men, and sons of [great] men;

Ps 48:3

⁴ My mouth shall speak of wisdom;

Ps 48:4

⁵ I will incline mine ear to a parable:

Ps 48:5

⁶ Wherefore should I fear in the evil day?

Ps 48:6

⁷ They that trust in their strength,

Ps 48:7

⁸ A brother does not redeem, shall a man redeem?

Ps 48:8

⁹ Or the price of the redemption of his soul,

Ps 48:9

¹⁰ and live to the end,

Ps 48:10

¹¹ When he shall see wise men dying,

Ps 48:11

¹² And their sepulchers are their houses forever,

Ps 48:12

¹³ And man being in honor, understands not:

Ps 48:13

¹⁴ This their way is an offense to them:

Ps 48:14

¹⁵ They have laid [them] as sheep in Hades; death shall feed on them;

Ps 48:15

¹⁶ But God shall deliver my soul

Ps 48:16

¹⁷ Fear not when a man is enriched,

Ps 48:17

¹⁸ For he shall take nothing when he dies;

Ps 48:18

¹⁹ For his soul shall be blessed in his life:

Ps 48:19

²⁰ [Yet] he shall go in to the generation of his fathers;

Ps 48:20

²¹ Man that is in honor, understands not:

Ps 48:21
