Chapter 50

Psalms · King David

¹ For the end, a Psalm of David, ² when Nathan the prophet came to him, when he had gone in to Bathsheba.

Ps 50:1-2

³ Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy great mercy;

Ps 50:3

⁴ Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity,

Ps 50:4

⁵ For I am conscious of mine iniquity;

Ps 50:5

⁶ Against thee only have I sinned,

Ps 50:6

⁷ For, behold, I was conceived in iniquities,

Ps 50:7

⁸ For, behold, thou lovest truth:

Ps 50:8

⁹ Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be purified:

Ps 50:9

¹⁰ Thou shalt cause me to hear gladness and joy:

Ps 50:10

¹¹ Turn away thy face from my sins,

Ps 50:11

¹² Create in me a clean heart, O God;

Ps 50:12

¹³ Cast me not away from thy presence;

Ps 50:13

¹⁴ Restore to me the joy of thy salvation:

Ps 50:14

¹⁵ [Then] will I teach transgressors thy ways;

Ps 50:15

¹⁶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation:

Ps 50:16

¹⁷ O Lord, thou shalt open my lips;

Ps 50:17

¹⁸ For if thou desiredst sacrifice, I would have given [it]:

Ps 50:18

¹⁹ Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit:

Ps 50:19

²⁰ Do good, O Lord, to Zion in thy good pleasure;

Ps 50:20

²¹ Then shalt thou be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness,
