Chapter 51

Psalms · King David

¹ For the end, [a Psalm] of instruction by David, ² when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David is gone to the house of Ahimelech.

Ps 51:1-2

³ Why dost thou, O mighty man, boast of iniquity in [thy] mischief?

Ps 51:3

⁴ thy tongue has devised unrighteousness;

Ps 51:4

⁵ Thou hast loved wickedness more than goodness;

Ps 51:5

⁶ Thou hast loved all words of destruction,

Ps 51:6

⁷ Therefore may God destroy thee forever,

Ps 51:7

⁸ And the righteous shall see, and fear,

Ps 51:8

⁹ Behold the man who made not God his help;

Ps 51:9

¹⁰ But I am as a fruitful olive in the house of God:

Ps 51:10

¹¹ I will give thanks to thee forever, for thou hast done [it]:
