¹ For the end, for alternate [strains], a testimony for Asaph, a Psalm concerning the Assyrian.

Ps 79:1

² Attend, O Shepherd of Israel,

Ps 79:2

³ Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,

Ps 79:3

⁴ Turn us, O God,

Ps 79:4

⁵ O Lord God of hosts,

Ps 79:5

⁶ Thou wilt feed us with bread of tears;

Ps 79:6

⁷ Thou hast made us a strife to our neighbors;

Ps 79:7

⁸ Turn us, O Lord God of hosts,

Ps 79:8

⁹ Thou hast transplanted a vine out of Egypt:

Ps 79:9

¹⁰ Thou madest a way before it,

Ps 79:10

¹¹ Its shadow covered the mountains,

Ps 79:11

¹² It sent forth its branches to the sea,

Ps 79:12

¹³ Wherefore hast thou broken down its hedge,

Ps 79:13

¹⁴ The boar out of the wood has laid it waste,

Ps 79:14

¹⁵ O God of hosts, turn, we pray thee:

Ps 79:15

¹⁶ And restore that which thy right hand has planted:

Ps 79:16

¹⁷ [It is] burned with fire and dug up:

Ps 79:17

¹⁸ Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand,

Ps 79:18

¹⁹ So will we not depart from thee:

Ps 79:19

²⁰ Turn us, O Lord God of hosts,
