Chapter 78

¹ A Psalm for Asaph.

Ps 78:1

² They have given the dead bodies of thy servants

Ps 78:2

³ They have shed their blood as water,

Ps 78:3

⁴ We are become a reproach to our neighbors,

Ps 78:4

⁵ How long, O Lord? wilt thou be angry forever?

Ps 78:5

⁶ Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee,

Ps 78:6

⁷ For they have devoured Jacob,

Ps 78:7

⁸ Remember not our old transgressions;

Ps 78:8

⁹ Help us, O God our Savior;

Ps 78:9

¹⁰ Lest haply they should say among the heathen, Where is their God?

Ps 78:10

¹¹ Let the groaning of the prisoners come in before thee;

Ps 78:11

¹² Repay to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their reproach,

Ps 78:12

¹³ For we are thy people and the sheep of thy pasture;
