¹ Whither is thy kinsman gone,

Song 6:1

² My kinsman is gone down to his garden, to the beds of spice,

Song 6:2

³ I am my kinsman’s, and my kinsman is mine,

Song 6:3

⁴ Thou art fair, my companion, as Pleasure,

Song 6:4

⁵ Turn away thine eyes from before me,

Song 6:5

⁶ Thy teeth are as flocks of shorn [sheep],

Song 6:6

⁷ Thy cheek is like the rind of a pomegranate,

Song 6:7

⁸ There are sixty queens, and eighty concubines,

Song 6:8

⁹ My dove, my perfect one is one;

¹⁰ Who is this that looks forth as the morning,

¹¹ I went down to the garden of nuts,

¹² There I will give thee my breasts:
