Chapter 35

¹ And Elihu resumed and said,

Job 35:1

² What is this that thou thinkest to be according to right?

τί τοῦτο ἡγήσω ἐν κρίσει; σὺ τίς εἶ ὅτι εἶπας· δίκαιός εἰμι ἔναντι Κυρίου;

Job 35:2

⁴ I will answer thee,

Job 35:4

⁵ Look up to the sky and see;

εἰ ἥμαρτες, τί πράξεις; εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλὰ ἠνόμησας, τί δύνασαι ποιῆσαι;

Job 35:5

⁶ If thou hast sinned, what wilt thou do?

Job 35:6

⁷ And suppose thou art righteous, what wilt thou give him?

ἐπεὶ δὲ οὖν δικαιος εἶ, τί δώσεις αὐτῷ; ἢ τί ἐκ χειρός σου λήψεται;

Job 35:7

⁸ Thy ungodliness [may affect] a man who is like to thee;

Job 35:8

⁹ They that are oppressed of a multitude will be ready to cry out;

Job 35:9

¹⁰ But none said, Where is God that made me,

Job 35:10

¹¹ Who makes me to differ from the four-footed beasts of the earth,

ὁ διορίζων με ἀπὸ τετραπόδων γῆς, ἀπὸ δὲ πετεινῶν οὐρανοῦ;

Job 35:11

¹² There they shall cry, and none shall hearken,

Job 35:12

¹³ For the Lord desires not to look on error,

Job 35:13

¹⁴ He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me:

Job 35:14

¹⁵ For he is not [now] regarding his wrath,

Job 35:15

¹⁶ Yet Job vainly opens his mouth,
