¹ How has the Lord darkened in his wrath

Lam 2:1

² In the day of his wrath

Lam 2:2

³ He has broken in his fierce anger

Lam 2:3

⁴ He has bent his bow as an opposing enemy:

Lam 2:4

⁵ The Lord is become as an enemy:

Lam 2:5

⁶ And he has scattered his tabernacle as a vine,

Lam 2:6

⁷ The Lord has rejected his altar,

Lam 2:7

⁸ And he has turned to destroy

Lam 2:8

⁹ Her gates are sunk into the ground:

¹⁰ The elders of the daughter of Zion

Lam 2:10

¹¹ Mine eyes have failed with tears,

Lam 2:11

¹² They said to their mothers,

Lam 2:12

¹³ What shall I testify to thee,

Lam 2:13

¹⁴ Thy prophets have seen for thee

Lam 2:14

¹⁵ All that go by the way

Lam 2:15

¹⁶ All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee:

¹⁷ The Lord has done that which he purposed;

Lam 2:17

¹⁸ Their heart cried to the Lord,

Lam 2:18

¹⁹ Arise, rejoice in the night

Lam 2:19

²⁰ Behold, O Lord,

Lam 2:20

²¹ The child and old man

Lam 2:21

²² He has called my sojourners round about
