TextA−AA+Bookmarks0← ProverbsChapter 7Proverbs · King SolomonPr 7:1¹ [My] son, keep my words,Pr 7:1Pr 7:1¹ a [My] son, honor the Lord, and thou shalt be strong;Pr 7:1Pr 7:2² Keep my commandments, and thou shalt live;Pr 7:2Pr 7:3³ And bind them on thy fingers,Pr 7:3Pr 7:4⁴ Say that wisdom is thy sister,Pr 7:4Pr 7:5⁵ That she may keep thee from the strange and wicked woman,Pr 7:5Pr 7:6⁶ For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets,Pr 7:6Pr 7:7⁷ Passing by the corner in the passages near her house,Pr 7:7Pr 7:8⁸ And speaking, in the dark of the evening,Pr 7:8Pr 7:9⁹ When there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:Pr 7:9Pr 7:10¹⁰ And the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot,Pr 7:10Pr 7:11¹¹ And she is fickle, and debauched,Pr 7:11Pr 7:12¹² For at one time she wanders without,Pr 7:12Pr 7:13¹³ Then she caught him, and kissed him,Pr 7:13Pr 7:14¹⁴ I have a peace offering;Pr 7:14Pr 7:15¹⁵ Therefore I came forth to meet thee, desiring thy face;Pr 7:15Pr 7:16¹⁶ I have spread my bed with sheets,Pr 7:16Pr 7:17¹⁷ I have sprinkled my couch with saffron,Pr 7:17Pr 7:18¹⁸ Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning;Pr 7:18Pr 7:19¹⁹ For my husband is not at home,Pr 7:19Pr 7:20²⁰ Having taken in his hand a bundle of money:Pr 7:20Pr 7:21²¹ So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray,Pr 7:21Pr 7:22²² And he followed her, being gently led on,Pr 7:22Pr 7:23²³ And he hastens as a bird into a snare,Pr 7:23Pr 7:24²⁴ Now then, [my] son, hearken to me,Pr 7:24Pr 7:25²⁵ Let not thy heart turn aside to her ways:Pr 7:25Pr 7:26²⁶ For she has wounded and cast down many,Pr 7:26Pr 7:27²⁷ Her house is the way of hell,Pr 7:27← Chapter 6Chapter 8 →
