Chapter 89

Psalms · King David

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God.

Ps 89:1

² Before the mountains existed,

Ps 89:2

³ Turn not man back to [his] low place,

Ps 89:3

⁴ For a thousand years in thy sight are

Ps 89:4

⁵ Years shall be vanity to them:

Ps 89:5

⁶ In the morning let it flower, and pass away:

Ps 89:6

⁷ For we have perished in thine anger,

Ps 89:7

⁸ Thou hast set our transgressions before thee:

Ps 89:8

⁹ For all our days are gone,

Ps 89:9

¹⁰ [As for] the days of our years, in them are seventy years;

Ps 89:10

¹¹ Who knows the power of thy wrath?

Ps 89:11

¹² And [who knows how] to number [his days]

Ps 89:12

¹³ Return, O Lord, how long?

Ps 89:13

¹⁴ We have been satisfied in the morning with thy mercy;

Ps 89:14

¹⁵ Let us rejoice in all our days,

Ps 89:15

¹⁶ And look upon thy servants, and upon thy works;

Ps 89:16

¹⁷ And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us:
