TextA−AA+Bookmarks0← PsalmsChapter 88Psalms · King DavidPs 88:1¹ [A Psalm] of instruction for Ethan the Israelite.Ps 88:1Ps 88:2² I will sing of thy mercies, O Lord, forever:Ps 88:2Ps 88:3³ For thou hast said, Mercy shall be built up forever:Ps 88:3Ps 88:4⁴ I made a covenant with my chosen ones,Ps 88:4Ps 88:5⁵ I will establish thy seed forever,Ps 88:5Ps 88:6⁶ The heavens shall declare thy wonders, O Lord;Ps 88:6Ps 88:7⁷ For who in the heavens shall be compared to the Lord?Ps 88:7Ps 88:8⁸ God is glorified in the council of the saints;Ps 88:8Ps 88:9⁹ O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee?Ps 88:9Ps 88:10¹⁰ Thou rulest the power of the sea;Ps 88:10Ps 88:11¹¹ Thou hast brought down the proud as one that is slain;Ps 88:11Ps 88:12¹² The heavens are thine, and the earth is thine:Ps 88:12Ps 88:13¹³ Thou hast created the north and the west:Ps 88:13Ps 88:14¹⁴ Thine is the mighty arm:Ps 88:14Ps 88:15¹⁵ Justice and judgment are the establishment of thy throne:Ps 88:15Ps 88:16¹⁶ Blessed is the people that knows the joyful sound:Ps 88:16Ps 88:17¹⁷ And in thy name shall they rejoice all the day:Ps 88:17Ps 88:18¹⁸ For thou art the boast of their strength;Ps 88:18Ps 88:19¹⁹ For [our] help is of the Lord;Ps 88:19Ps 88:20²⁰ Then thou spokest in vision to thy children,Ps 88:20Ps 88:21²¹ I have found David my servant;Ps 88:21Ps 88:22²² For my hand shall support him;Ps 88:22Ps 88:23²³ The enemy shall have no advantage against him;Ps 88:23Ps 88:24²⁴ And I will hew down his foes before him,Ps 88:24Ps 88:25²⁵ But my truth and my mercy shall be with him;Ps 88:25Ps 88:26²⁶ And I will set his hand in the sea,Ps 88:26Ps 88:27²⁷ He shall call upon me, [saying], Thou art my Father,Ps 88:27Ps 88:28²⁸ And I will make him [my] firstborn,Ps 88:28Ps 88:29²⁹ I will keep my mercy for him forever,Ps 88:29Ps 88:30³⁰ And I will establish his seed forever and ever,Ps 88:30Ps 88:31³¹ If his children should forsake my law,Ps 88:31Ps 88:32³² If they should profane my ordinances,Ps 88:32Ps 88:33³³ I will visit their transgressions with a rod,Ps 88:33Ps 88:34³⁴ But my mercy I will not utterly remove from him,Ps 88:34Ps 88:35³⁵ Neither will I by any means profane my covenant;Ps 88:35Ps 88:36³⁶ Once have I sworn by my holiness, that I will not lie to David.Ps 88:36Ps 88:37³⁷ His seed shall endure forever,Ps 88:37Ps 88:38³⁸ And as the moon [that is] established forever,Ps 88:38Ps 88:39³⁹ But thou hast cast off and set at nought,Ps 88:39Ps 88:40⁴⁰ Thou hast overthrown the covenant of thy servant;Ps 88:40Ps 88:41⁴¹ Thou hast broken down all his hedges;Ps 88:41Ps 88:42⁴² All that go by the way have spoiled him:Ps 88:42Ps 88:43⁴³ Thou hast exalted the right hand of his enemies;Ps 88:43Ps 88:44⁴⁴ Thou hast turned back the help of his sword,Ps 88:44Ps 88:45⁴⁵ Thou hast deprived him of glory:Ps 88:45Ps 88:46⁴⁶ Thou hast shortened the days of his throne:Ps 88:46Ps 88:47⁴⁷ How long, O Lord, wilt thou turn away, forever?Ps 88:47Ps 88:48⁴⁸ Remember what my being is:Ps 88:48Ps 88:49⁴⁹ What man is there who shall live, and not see death?Ps 88:49Ps 88:50⁵⁰ Where are thine ancient mercies, O Lord,Ps 88:50Ps 88:51⁵¹ Remember, O Lord, the reproach of thy servants,Ps 88:51Ps 88:52⁵² Wherewith thine enemies have reviled, O Lord:Ps 88:52Ps 88:53⁵³ Blessed be the Lord forever.Ps 88:53← Chapter 87Chapter 89 →
