¹ The Song of songs, which is Solomon’s.

Song 1:1

² Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth:

Song 1:2

³ And the smell of thine ointments is better than all spices:

Song 1:3

⁴ They have drawn thee:

Song 1:4

⁵ I am black, but beautiful,

Song 1:5

⁶ Look not upon me, because I am dark,

Song 1:6

⁷ Tell me, [thou] whom my soul loves,

Song 1:7

⁸ If thou know not thyself, thou fair one among women,

Song 1:8

⁹ I have likened thee, my companion,

Song 1:9

¹⁰ How are thy cheeks beautiful as [those] of a dove,

Song 1:10

¹¹ We will make thee figures of gold

Song 1:11

¹² So long as the king was at table,

Song 1:12

¹³ My kinsman is to me a bundle of myrrh;

Song 1:13

¹⁴ My kinsman is to me a cluster of camphor

¹⁵ Behold, thou art fair, my companion;

¹⁶ Behold, thou art fair, my kinsman,

¹⁷ The beams of our house are cedars,
