Chapter 10

Wisdom of Solomon · King Solomon

¹ She preserved the first formed father of the world,

Wis 10:1

² And gave him power to rule all things.

Wis 10:2

³ But when the unrighteous went away from her in his anger,

Wis 10:3

⁴ For whose cause the earth being drowned with the flood, wisdom again preserved it,

Wis 10:4

⁵ Moreover, the nations in their wicked conspiracy being confounded,

Wis 10:5

⁶ When the ungodly perished, she delivered the righteous man,

Wis 10:6

⁷ Of whose wickedness, even to this day the waste land that smoketh is a testimony,

Wis 10:7

⁸ For regarding not wisdom,

Wis 10:8

⁹ But wisdom delivered from pain those that attended upon her.

Wis 10:9

¹⁰ When the righteous fled from his brother’s wrath,

Wis 10:10

¹¹ In the covetousness of such as oppressed him she stood by him,

Wis 10:11

¹² She defended him from his enemies,

Wis 10:12

¹³ When the righteous was sold, she forsook him not,

Wis 10:13

¹⁴ And left him not in bonds,

Wis 10:14

¹⁵ She delivered the righteous people and blameless seed

Wis 10:15

¹⁶ She entered into the soul of the servant of the Lord,

Wis 10:16

¹⁷ Rendered to the righteous a reward of their labors,

Wis 10:17

¹⁸ Brought them through the Red Sea,

Wis 10:18

¹⁹ But she drowned their enemies,

Wis 10:19

²⁰ Therefore the righteous spoiled the ungodly,

Wis 10:20

²¹ For wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb,
