TextA−AA+Bookmarks0← Wisdom of SolomonChapter 6Wisdom of Solomon · King SolomonWis 6:1¹ Hear therefore, O ye kings, and understand;Wis 6:1Wis 6:2² Give ear, ye that rule the people,Wis 6:2Wis 6:3³ For power is given you of the Lord,Wis 6:3Wis 6:4⁴ Because, being ministers of his kingdom, ye have not judged aright,Wis 6:4Wis 6:5⁵ Horribly and speedily shall he come upon you:Wis 6:5Wis 6:6⁶ For mercy will soon pardon the meanest:Wis 6:6Wis 6:7⁷ For he which is Lord over all shall fear no man’s person,Wis 6:7Wis 6:8⁸ But a sore trial shall come upon the mighty.Wis 6:8Wis 6:9⁹ Unto you therefore, O kings, do I speak,Wis 6:9Wis 6:10¹⁰ For they that keep holiness holily shall be judged holy:Wis 6:10Wis 6:11¹¹ Wherefore set your affection upon my words;Wis 6:11Wis 6:12¹² Wisdom is glorious, and never fadeth away:Wis 6:12Wis 6:13¹³ She preventeth them that desire her,Wis 6:13Wis 6:14¹⁴ Whoso seeketh her early shall have no great travail:Wis 6:14Wis 6:15¹⁵ To think therefore upon her is the perfection of wisdom:Wis 6:15Wis 6:16¹⁶ For she goeth about seeking such as are worthy of her,Wis 6:16Wis 6:17¹⁷ For the very true beginning of her is the desire of discipline;Wis 6:17Wis 6:18¹⁸ And love is the keeping of her laws;Wis 6:18Wis 6:19¹⁹ And incorruption maketh us near unto God:Wis 6:19Wis 6:20²⁰ Therefore the desire of wisdom bringeth to a kingdom.Wis 6:20Wis 6:21²¹ If your delight be then in thrones and scepters, O ye kings of the people,Wis 6:21Wis 6:22²² As for wisdom, what she is, and how she came up, I will tell you,Wis 6:22Wis 6:23²³ Neither will I go with consuming envy;Wis 6:23Wis 6:24²⁴ But the multitude of the wise is the welfare of the world:Wis 6:24Wis 6:25²⁵ Receive therefore instruction through my words,Wis 6:25← Chapter 5Chapter 7 →
